RE: Emergency Response

Yes, good point, if the carrier and/or shipper has done their job. In my
experience, many "small" radioactive users don't properly comply with those
regulations (and get written up for it).

The most important tip I can provide is to address the Emergency Response
Information (ERI) requirement specified in 49 CFR Part 172, Subpart G. An
ERI sheet is required to accompany the materials' shipping papers and to be
immediately accessible to the driver during transport. The ERI provides
first responders to a transportation incident the information they need
about the material being transported and the appropriate ways to respond to
protect the victims and themselves. A good source for more details is the
following website: http://hazmat.dot.gov/regs.htm. Good luck.
