Cosmic Rays article

RADSAFErs,

Since there has been some recent discussions on cosmic radiation, I thought
some of you might be interested in an article I stumbled upon the other day.
In the April 1998 edition of Physics Today (sorry, I am just catching up on
my reading:-) there is an article titled "Cosmic Rays, Nuclear Gamma Rays,
and the Origin of the Light Elements", by R. Ramaty (NASA Goddard), B.
Kozlovsky (Tel Aviv University) and R. Lingenfelter (U.C. San Diego). It
discusses the current understandings of the source of cosmic rays as being
generated by supernovae within the galaxy. While it is written by and for
astrophysicists (different terminology and units than we use in health
physics), it may be of interest to people on this list.

Since it is only about 6 pages, and a couple years old, I would be willing
to fax it to interested parties if they cannot find the magazine. Please
send your fax number to my e-mail address below, so we don't bog down the
listserver.

On another subject, a month or so ago I asked for information on tritium
loaded exit signs, and received several very helpful replies. In the course
of that, I was asked to provide a summary of the information. With regards
to the summary, I wish to apologize for the delay, but I do still hope to
get something out in the near future.

Hope you all have a good Friday,

what few thoughts i have are truly my own
