Dosimetry
I am posing this question to other institutions that are using vendors
for dosimetry, instrument calibrations and radon detectors.
What is the average price you pay for a body badge for a monthly turn
around and for a quarterly turn around? Is the quarterly price 1/3 of
the monthly price? Does it make sense that if 1/3 of the service is
provided that 1/3 of the price is justified? If you order two radon
detectors and turn one in one month later than the other, do you get
charged twice as much for the one you had for 2 months? If you send an
instrument off for calibration once a month for $50 do you get charged
$150 if you send it off every 3 months?
I am in the process of justifying to my superiors why my budget is the
same even though I have gone to doing procedures quarterly instead of
monthly for dosimetry. I am looking for reasonable answers in response
to their questions. I am using the public's money, I have to justify
this to them.
