Belgian nuclear waste shipment dummy run completed

BRUSSELS, March 17 (Reuters) - The Belgian nuclear waste agency
Ondraf said on Friday the transport of a mock-up high level nuclear
waste shipment from France to Belgium had been succesfully completed,
opening the way to real shipments.

The mock-up arrived by train from the Cogema re-processing plant at
La Hague, France on February 24, Cogema said in a statement.

Belgium plans to ship 75 cubic metres of its nuclear waste from the
plant where it was sent for re-processing. No Belgian nuclear waste
has yet made the return journey.

Ondraf said it would publish a timetable for the real shipments in
the coming weeks.
