Disposal of Clean YELLOW materials

There is a nervousness on our site about the disposal of anything yellow (bags, herculite,etc).  These materials may never have been in a radiological area, or if they were, they were completely surveyed and released.

How do other locations, especially DOE sites, deal with this topic?  Do you release items?  If yes, do you do something to it first (shred, mark it etc).
