Health Physicist - Associate

Position in an established radiation safety program to provide health physics services in support of radioactive materials use in research.  Primary responsibilities include operational radiation safety, with emphasis on processing and maintaining authorizations for the use of radioactive materials under a broadscope license.  Position requires:  a bachelor's degree in health physics or a science related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; extensive experience managing the safe use of radioactive materials in a research environment; operating radiation detection equipment; physical capability of using a respirator; possession of a valid driver's license with the ability to comply with the University's Fleet Safety Program.
Desirable qualifications include experience with radiation safety in a university environment; supervisory experience; familiarity with NRC, RCRA, DOT and OSHA regulations; and computer experience in a Windows environment. Salary range is
