RE: Seeds DO Sprout!

I used to irradiate vegetable seeds for my father. I would give them
different doses so he could try them. He loved the high yield, especially
green beans. Once his grandkids found out they were eating 'atomic beans'
or 'atomic (insert vegetable name here)', they wouldn't eat them. Dad
simply quit telling them which plants came from irradiated seed. How much
dose did it take to change the colour of flowers? Were they a different
shade of the same colour or a completely different colour? S Ziegler

FWIW: A LONG time ago, I ran a research cobalt irradiator and irradiated
many different items for a dozen or so researchers and PhD students. Among
them were flower seeds that were shown to change both color and bloom
characteristics post-irradiation. Some were rather spectacular in color!

I'm sure that might be interesting to ..... nobody. Oh well.
