Exactly. Your assessment above is primarily the foundation for the
TEDE ALARA evaluation performed with the revised 10CFR20, January
'94. It's not a problem to "give" a little internal dose if the
overall TEDE dose is less. This is acceptable if the evaluation is
performed prior to performing the job, and, all other engineering
steps have been taken to reduce "reasonable" dose. This was a step in
the right direction, and attacks the original premise that all dose
is bad, and the myth that internal dose is even worse.
