It has been asked several times recently "where is your compassion?" It
seems to me that the best expression of compasion for ignorance about
radiation health effects is to cure that ignorance. >>

On point. As a youngster growing up in the late 1950s, I used to be a
philatalist [collector of US postage stamps if it ever comes up on "Who Wants
to be a Millionaire?"]. I remember a series of stamps issued over many years
called the "Champions of Liberty" theme honoring great Americans. I believe
it was no less a figure than Thomas Jefferson who was featured on one stamp
with the quote:
"I have sworn eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind
of man."
