About 6 years ago I bought some thorium lantern mantles from Century Tool & Manufacturing Co. (815-332-4951) of Cherry Valley, IL; at the time, they sold both thorium and non-thorium versions under their "Primus" brand. At the time the prices were $1.60/package of two; 50/box; $7 shipping/handling for orders over $30, so a box of 50 cost $87; S/H was the same cost no matter how many were ordered if the tatal was over $30. I had to specify that I wanted the thorium version to be sure they sent me the "good" ones. American Wick is another company that may also sell thorium content mantles; but I can't say for sure, and I have no additional info. on that company.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe that the lantern
mantles manufactured today contain thorium in them. The Reactor Sharing
Program at UMass Lowell has several packets of these mantles in their
"demo" kit, and thorium is actually listed on the package contents of the
older mantles, whereas the newer packages don't list this "ingredient".
