Re: Time Constant for Ludlem Model 2121

Hello Terry;

Sorry this is a bit late; I've been working on the road. I haven't seen
any other responses so I'll hazard a post...

I have assembled a large number of instrument time constants while
developing the RadCalc program. I believed I had *all* of Ludlum's time
constants, but I am unaware of a Model 2121. If you meant the Model
2221, the time constant is 1.8 sec on fast response and 10 seconds on
slow response. If you did indeed mean "2121" (or another instrument)
please let me know and I'll be happy to track it down for you.

The time constant will not be changed by calibration, radiation
detected, or detector used. It is a value designed into the instrument
but is sometimes adjustable by the user (e.g., Ludlum's fast/slow
switch). If you have any other questions regarding radiation detection
and measurement, please don't hesitate to ask!

Regards,

Paul
