On the Road again...

Greetings all,

As many of you might have figured from Sandy's email last week, there will be an
open position at ICN. I will be leaving at the end of this month for a bit of
travelling (traveling-who me??). My wife and I will be heading up to Alaska and
other parts of the USA and Canada North by Northwest. As on our last trip, I
have prepared a lecture to present to groups interested in hearing it.

The lecture titled "Operational Characteristics of Film Dosimeters" will last
about an hour. As the "Soon to be Former Technical guy" at ICN on Film, I have
learned a bit and would like to share my knowledge with anyone interested. Film
is the most commonly used dosimeter in the world. Many of you RSO's out there
are aware of this, but many others see it as old fashioned and are probably
surprised by this fact. My lecture will discuss characteristics of film
dosimeters, and ways to get the most from this effective tool of radiation
dosimetry.

The offer to Lecture requires that you are a convenient stop. In return, I
would appreciate a tour around your facility and some insight into what you are
doing as Health Physicists.

During my last travels I gave lectures on TLDs in various countries around the
world. Anyone interested in reading about what we did and saw on that trip, are
welcome to visit our web site**.

**Most of the content has nothing to do with Health Physics, but I did add some
good HP Links collected over the years.

We will be traveling up to Alaska starting May 1 and will make it to Prince
Rupert, BC by 16 May. From there it is on to Ketchican, Wrangell, and Juneau.
We will be heading up to Mainland AK via Haines by the middle of June, and
returning through Canada in the Fall. On the way back we will be heading down
the Western US to Texas, then onto Florida. We hope to settle in the Oak Ridge,
TN area.

Oak Ridger's don't forget to check out my Resume Linked under "Robert J. Gunter,
CHP" on the web site ; ) )

If you would like me to Present a lecture (great training opportunity) at your
facility send an email before April 28 to this address, or send one anytime to
my permanent email address: gunter01@hotmail.com.

Hope to see many of you!

Yours,

Rob Gunter
