RE: cyclotrons
Andrew,
I am involved in the design, build and operation of accelerators in the UK.
Your list of references was helpful. I understand that the first book is now
out of print. Are the second and third references available on the web?
Thanks for your help

I would recommend the following:
IAEA, Technical Reports Series No. 283, Radiological Safety Aspects of the
Operation of Proton Accelerators, R.H. Thomas, G.R. Stevenson, Vienna 1988,
STI/DOC/10/283 ISBN 92-0-125188-2
Health Physics Manual of Good Practices for Accelerator Facilities,
SLAC-327, UC-41 (A) National Technical Information Service, US Dept of
Commerce.
American National Standard N43-4 Safety in the Design and Operation of
Particle Accelerators
OSHA Standards - Part 1920.96 (Ionizing Radiation) of Chapter XVII of tile
29 CFR
If I can be of any further help, let me know.
