SAFETY OFFICER II at NC State University



SALARY GRADE 68 $27,557-$43,058 VACANCY 40226 BS/BA IN PHYSICS,
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY, SAFETY MANAGEMENT, INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE OR RELATED
PHYSICAL SCIENCE AND TWO YEARS OF PROGRESSIVE RADIATION SAFETY
EXPERIENCE. This position in the Radiation Safety Division will be
responsible for ensuring laboratory compliance with university policies,
procedures and regulations; reviewing documents for isotope use in
research, development, studies, experiments, medical diagnosis and
therapy; inventory and leak/shutter testing of various sealed radioactive
sources; receipt and delivery of isotopes on campus. Additional duties
may include maintaining spreadsheets and databases regarding isotopes,
personnel and laboratory audits; training of campus personnel; x-ray
program management and other duties as assigned. Requires a BS/BA degree
and relevant work experience. Must have a good understanding of radiation
safety principles and apply this knowledge in job duties. LOCATION: NC
STATE UNIVERSITY ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY CENTER.
