I have been involved in a lot of "health physics" over the years but never
used the term to describe the direction of my work to some "outsider" - 
simply
because it seems so strange and causes confusion among those outside the 
field
(it is different if I communicate with someone within the field - then I 
don't
reflect over it but usually still say "radiation protection" or something
like that). But I realize that I am just one person here out of 3000 so I 
won't
protest whatever the consensus is.
