I'm not sure how else they would get the teeth. But my understanding is that
they are looking for a large enough number of teeth to overcome any sampling
concerns.

I've seen other studies, like medical ones where they solicit for volunteers
for the study and pay 'em. So I don't see the tooth donations as a big
thing. Could be wrong, of course.
