Norm,
With all due respect, the above position is absolutely ludicrous. It's
difficult for me to comprehend anyone who uses a little common
sense to see the folly in the argument. Radiation is radiation, and
dose is dose. Photons, beta neutron and alpha emissions are the
same whether they derive from natural or man-made sources. Co-
60 is emitted from a reactor, yet it too is used in therapeutic
applications to save lives. Based on the argument above, it too
should cause death and/or other adverse effects.
It appears to me that when an individual who is so highly charged
and is fighting against something that they may or may not truly
believe in, when they have some emotional event in their life, or
something that attacks the very root of their paradigm, they resort
to comments and arguments as you put forth. You state that this
is the position of the Tooth fairy project. Very well. I ask you to tell
me whether or not you subscribe to their argument as well. If you
do, then I see no further point in debating the finer points as to
what is real and what is not real, when it comes to determining
which parts of the nuclear cycle may need fine tuning, which parts
are perfectly safe, and which parts need to be changed totally.
I await your response.
