Dear Radsafers,
I have been doing some digging on the requirements for reporting lost or missing radioactive material. According to 10CFR20.2201, we need to report a loss of 10 x the 20 CFR Appendix C value within 30 days. My question is &What is required for the loss of less than 10 x the 20 CFR Appendix C value?8.
I want to be prepared in case an event like this occurs. I need an answer to this question that applies to a typical biomedical research institution working with unsealed radioactive materials (H-3, C-14, P-32, P-33, S-35, In-111, and I-125). I appreciate your help.
Thank you!
Wade Sewell
