ABR exam - followup

Hello, all.

I have been assured that the questions our residents are studying from are
NOT formerly used questions from the ABR exam. Rather, they are akin to
those in many of the CHP Part I prep courses and are not necessarily
current. I also understand that the process of writing the ABR exam is
analogous to that of writing the CHP exam. I hope that anyone involved in
the writing the ABR exam will excuse any seeming aspersions my posting
yesterday may have cast on their exam. However, this does make me wonder
about the utility of residents studying for an important exam using
materials that are somewhat out of date.

Sincerely,

Andy

Mathematics may be compared to a mill of exquisite workmanship which grinds
you stuff of any degree of fineness; but, nevertheless, what you get out
depends on what you put in; and as the grandest mill in the world will not
extract wheat-flour from peascods, so pages of formulae will not get a
definite result out of loose data. (T.H. Huxley, 1869)
