SCIENTIST (HEALTH PHYSICS) AT BECHTEL NEVADA



	Health Physics Scientist

Bechtel Nevada has an immediate opening for a health physics scientist
at the Nevada Test Site, 60 miles from Las Vegas, Nevada.  

Candidate will assist in planning and organizing radiation and health
physics programs; inspect work areas where potential radiological
hazards may exist; establish procedures designed to protect personnel
and control radiological hazards; and collect, analyze, and evaluate data
from survey forms, log books, and other data sources using standard
calculations and techniques.

Candidate shall possess a BS in a physical science or equivalent, or a
combination of relevant education and experience, plus a minimum of
four years experience in implementation of Radiological Controls
programs.  Technical knowledge of radiation protection systems,
principles, calculations, methods, and materials, and the ability to apply
this knowledge in a radiation protection program are required.  Current
knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and criteria pertinent to
health physics and basic computer skills are required.  The ability to work
independently or in a team environment on a wide variety of tasks is
critical.  Candidate must be able to be fitted for and be qualified to use
various respiratory protection and personal protective equipment.  DOE
experience preferred.
