Re: Quench standards,
All the sets are almost certainly de-regulated scintillation media which can
be disposed as "... if they were not radioactive". [10CFR20.2005]. You can
either re-count them to verify that the activity is below the 0.05
microcurie per gram limit, or calculate the decayed activity of the H-3
standards. Sets that old may be toluene, xylene, or pseudocumene based, and
may have to be disposed as hazardous chemical waste.
