Hungary's Nuclear Plant to Borrow 38 Billion Forint, MTI Says
Budapest, June 21 (Bloomberg) -- Paksi Atomeromu Rt., Hungary's
nuclear power plant, said it will borrow 38 billion forint ($139
million) from a group of banks in coming days, Hungarian state news
agency MTI reported, citing Karoly Antali, the company's financial
manager. The energy company will start repaying the six-year
syndicated loan only after three years. The company will use the
money to improve safety at the plant in central Hungary, MTI said.
Hungary has cut interest rates five times this year, trimming
borrowing costs to their lowest ever; the central bank last lowered
its benchmark two-week deposit rate on April 25, by a quarter-point
to 11 percent.
