What a shame. Perhaps the flame burned out with all of the political
upheaval. It's unheard of to hear a research facility state that they
are closing the "test facility" or the "research" due to discouraging
results. All research doesn't end up with a home run right out of the
gate. Research takes time, and there will be ups and there will be
downs as well. All part of the game.

While I visited Kyoto University, where they are performing brain
surgery using their test reactor, it is gratifying that there is
research still continuing in some part of the world. Too bad the USA
will be relegated to a "has been" in an area where we used to be out
in front. It's an embarrassment to see BNL shut down. Many should be
ashamed of themselves.
