56 different species of roaches have been found in the state of Florida. 95% 
of those in New York are of one species (the last part of the scientific 
name is germanica - I forgot the genus) - the have never been found in the 
nature of New York - only among people. Roaches must be tolerant to much 
higher doses than humans. There is a reference about roaches load with 
phosphorous 32 in some lab - probably Health Physics from around 1980 - I 
don't think that the doses were estimated however but they were doing fine. 
I should be able to dig it up.
