If this mine is anything like the one in Boulder, Montana, USA, then it is certainly not like the *spa* environment that you have described.
The mines are generally cold and on the damp side with rather austere furnishings.
There are also warnings for people who feel claustrophobic underground and ways to accommodate them if they do. I don't see nearly as many confounding factors in the mines that may be identified at the spas (alternative therapies, pampering, etc.).
In fact, many visitors have described feeling ill either during their visit or shortly thereafter. This feeling is short-lived and generally gives way to a relief in the symptoms within days or weeks afterward.
