All members of the European Union had to implement the directive on
radiation protection into national law by May 13, 2000. As far as I know,
no member has really completed this process, but most are on the way to do
it. The content of the directive, which gives clear guidance like the dose
factors, the 1 mSv concept etc. are since that date directly applicable and
compulsary even without implementation into national law. For more
information you (and other RADSAFERs) may contact me privately.
