RWMAC's Advice to Ministers on the Ministry of Defence's Arrangements for
Dealing with Radioactively Contaminated Land

In June 1999, the Minister for the Environment, Michael Meacher, following
consultation with Ministerial colleagues, including those in the MoD,
commissioned RWMAC to carry out a review of MoD's radioactive waste
management practices as part of the Committee's work programme for
1999-2000. It was agreed that the review should include MoD's arrangements
for dealing with its radioactively contaminated land.
