RE: EPA Action Level for Radon
For an interesting view of the radon guidelines, I would suggest reading
"Element of Risk: The Politics of Radon" by Leonard Cole (AAAS Press, 1993).
His contention is that the radon controversy provides an ideal environmental
"problem" because the cost of mitigation is borne entirely by the public.
Needless to say, Cole is not an advocate of the EPA on this issue, but he
does appear to have some basis for his conclusions.
