RE: Al Gore... and Bush

I think the question as to what Bush/Cheney think of nuclear
power/research/radwaste etc. is a good one as well. Is it likely that 2
guys that made a very good living in the fossil industry (oil) might not be
so supportive of a competing production technology? A better question.
Which of the candidates are the nuclear utilities giving more $$$ support
to? In these times, that's the only one that really matters.

Different audience. Different time. Different administration.

Bernard,

Please post this on RADSAFE

Al Gore, Pro Nuclear or Anti Nuclear?

In the 1988 time frame Al Gore (then a U. S. Senator from Tennessee), was
Key Note Speaker at an American Nuclear Society Meeting held at the
Opryland Hotel in Nashville. He detailed the rate of pollutants introduced
to the atmosphere from domestic and world wide fossil fuel use. He strongly
suggested nuclear power as part of the solution. He received a standing
ovation. There were over 2000 in the audience.
