The position is responsible for implementing and maintaining radiation work authorizations issued to control the use of unsealed and sealed radioisotopes. Responsibilities may include performing hazards evaluations, recommending appropriate controls and monitoring, conducting audits of work areas and facilities, performing reviews, recommending corrective actions when necessary and monitoring employee external and internal doses.
QUALIFICATIONS: A B.S. degree in health physics or related discipline plus a minimum of five years experience in radiological safety. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in support of research operation and who have a working knowledge of 10CFR835, 49 CFR and part 20 requirements.
