US-IL-Lombard-Assistant Radiation Safety Director

Responsibilities include:
· Performs daily management of radiation safety programs, department databases, and
clerical staff.
· Maintains radioactive materials licenses and registrations.
· Evaluates certification materials for moisture/density gauge operators, X-ray
fluorescence device operators, industrial radiographers, and assistant radiographers.
· Corresponds with various regulatory agencies.
· Compiles reports on exposure to radiation exposure of previous employees per
request.
· Assists in the development and implementation of radiation safety procedures.
· Conducts classroom instruction of Radiation Safety Officers during seminars.
· Coordinate radioactive equipment distribution, repairs, and disposals.
Requirements:
· Experience in the naval nuclear program preferred.
· US navy ELTs are strongly encouraged to apply.
· College degree in health physics, engineering or a related field of science is preferred.
· Requires working knowledge of basic radiation safety controls and of regulatory
agencies and their procedures.
· Knowledge of materials testing and industrial radiography desired.
· Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of company management.
· Moderate travel required.
