NCCHPS November Dinner Meeting

NCC HPS Dinner Announcement:

November 15, 2000, Wednesday evening:

Guest Speakers: Wim, Leemans, David Rodgers, and Ken Barat

Topic: Laser and Accelerator Safety

        On Wednesday November 15th, the Bay-area chapters of the
        Health Physics Society, the American Industrial Hygiene
        Association, and the American Society of Safety Engineers
        will hold a joint meeting at the Lawrence Berkeley National
        Laboratory (LBNL), located in Berkeley. LBNL has kindly
        opened their doors to us so we may tour selected facilities
        before the reception, dinner, and hearing the three guest
        speakers on the topic of Optical Accelerators.

        The tours of the facilities will begin at 4:30 PM and run
        parallel until about 6:00 PM. A special bus will be available
        for tours. It will be running in a continuous loop stopping
        at the Hazardous Waste Facility, 88-inch Cyclotron, and the
        Advanced Light Source where you will be able to get on
        and off the bus at the facility of your choice.

        If you plan to take the tour, please identify yourself at
        the main gate and state that your are attending the Health
        Physics Society Meeting and tour. You will then need
        directions to Perseverance Hall parking lot, location Bldg. 54,
        where you can sign up for the meeting and tours. You may leave
        your car in the parking lot as the reception and dinner will
        be held in the cafeteria adjacent to the parking lot. At the
        end of the tour loop, you will be returned to the Perservance
        Hall parking lot where the reception will begin at 5:30 PM,
        dinner served at 6:00 PM, and our guest speakers will begin
        their talks at 6:30 PM.

        You must sign up for the meeting in advance [***NO LATER THAN
        11/8/00***] to ensure gate access. Please let the Treasurer
        know that you plan to attend the tour when you make your dinner
        reservations.

American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).
