Studying for Part II of the CHP Exam
The best thing you can do in preparing for Part II is to have a study
buddy, or preferably 3-6 study buddies.
I took the whole CHP exam in 1985, after studying for almost two years with
a group. We met one day a week at lunch, each person presenting an assigned
problem(s), a regulatory topic, etc. We had a topically organized binder of
problems that were put out by, if memory serves, by the Maryland HPS
chapter. There are more such collections out today, plus the monthly
problem in the HPS Newsletter. You should look at and work a variety of
problems.
Also, if you don't do much writing in your job, put in a little time
writing out three- or four-paragraph essays on hot topics, such as the
linear no-threshold theory -- it'll give you practice and will firm up your
understanding of the subject.
