RE: Victoreen 470

Just a word about batteries - my old Victoreen catalog (1997) list the Model
470A as having a "Battery Complement" of 2 1.5 V "D" batteries and four 22.5
V No. 505 batteries (included). It also lists "Battery life: "D" batteries
on mR range: more than 150 hrs at 24hrs/day. On R/hr range 85 hrs. at 24
hrs/day or 120 hrs at 8 hrs/day. No 505 batteries: shelf-life (approx. 1
year). Battery check function built-in".

The Model 470 is not listed in the Catalog.

Hope this may help the discussion.

The Victoreen "470A" does not use mercury batteries.

Was there a model 470 (without the "A")?
