Re: Alpha-activity of bricks



The alpha activity in bricks will vary greatly depending on the clay from
which it was produced.  The  Dutch Nuclear geo-physics group at the KVI at
Groningen University, runs a research and commercial operation based on
distinguishing between clay (fine particles, much more radio-active)  and
sand based on their difference in radio-activity. They measure U-238 and
Th-232 by measuring gammas, but this can probably be related to the alpha
