Not informing the patient that they had been given a radioisotope would be an
apparent violation of radiation safety guidelines and state and federal
regulations. This would be so regardless of the fact that limits had not
been exceeded.
The facility's radioactive materials license usually requires the licensee
to inform the patient; informed consent, etc.
