Re: Mobile Chernobyl - what is this?

January 8, 2001
Davis, CA

"Mobile Chernobyl" is the anti-nuclear activist sarcastic description of
the transport of spent nuclear fuel rods or other high-level radioactive
material by rail. The implication is that such transport is inherently
unsafe. Unfortunately, this type of erroneous slogan is effective in
confusing the public.

It seems to me that the National Information and Resources Service (NIRS)
has been promulgating antinuclear misinformation.
