Tritium Smear Analysis

We are contemplating using a liquid scintillation counter for analysis of
tritium activity collected via paper smears/wipes of surfaces.

Does anyone out there have calibration and basis documents for setting up
the LSC for this type of analysis ?

We were contemplating digesting the smear in an acid solution and performing
the analysis on an aliquat of this solution.  Is this an appropriate
analysis method ?
