Re: High natural background radiation areas



The external radiation levels due the monazite sand along certain beaches in
Guarapary, Brazil, is, on average,  5 mGy/yr (500 mrad/yr) ,
that's mean:  (0.5 to 0.6)µGy/hr (50 to 60 µrad/hr)

There was apparently a character translation problem. As we discussed a
couple of previous times - "micro" should probably always be spelled out in
computer systems to avoid any risk of misinterpretation,
