Health Physics Assistant Opening



The Office of Research Safety at Northwestern University, Chicago campus,
is seeking a Health Physics Assistant who will support the radiation safety
program for radiation users in an academic research setting (we do not
provide services to Northwestern Memorial Hospital). Primary duties include
surveying laboratories, maintaining inventory records, checking in
shipments, maintaining survey meters and other equipment, responding to
incidents, and related activities. Qualifications include a BS degree in a
safety, environmental or scientific field with 2 years experience, or the
equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. A radiation
safety background is strongly preferred. The Medical School campus has 175
authorized investigators and 875 radiation workers in 300 laboratories. If
