Re: Sick French try to prove Chernobyl caused ailments

Following this message related to thyroid cancer, it may be interesting to

precise that the number of such cancers has increased from 2/100 000

inhabitants to 5.5/ 100 000 inh for women and from .7/100 000 inh to 3/100

000 inh for men between 1975 and 1985. However, the increase is monotoneous

without any indication of any break after Chernobyl. During the same

period, the number of deaths has kept constant for men (0.6/100 000) and

slightly decreased for women from 1/100 000 down to 0.5/100 000).

The reason for the increase is not elucidated ; it may be due to a larger

and better use of the detection techniques, the early detection increasing,

on another hand, the change of recovering.
