Subject: Looking for an old cartoon
RADSAFERS,
Greetings.
I am preparing an internal general radiation safety training presentation and am
searching for graphics to use. In reference to common misunderstandings of
radiation and it effects, I am especially interested in a one-panel cartoon that
came out on newspapers soon after the TMI accident. This particular cartoon
showed two women and a boy near TMI. A woman says to the other woman with a boy,
'He's grown a foot since I saw him last.' The boy is depicted as having a foot
growing out of his head. If anyone can point me to where I may find the
one-panel cartoon, I'd really appreciate it.
BTW, I also intend to use "Spiderman" and "Incredible Hulk (as depicted by Bill
Bixby)" (though entertaining) as fine examples of science, radiation and mass
media at work.
If anybody has other suggestions, I'd like to hear from you.
Thank you in advance.
Tosh Ushino
