Re; Story about Chernobyl on Thurs 26 April about 5:50PM EDT

Attn: Tony Snow

Dear Tony,

I was dumbfounded to see and hear your story (cited above) claiming

30,000 or 4,000 deaths and other current urban legends on the

anniversary of that event. Please, for heavens' sake get this thing

straight and stop misleading the public. Fox News of all organizations

has too much to lose over this kind of gross untruth. And of all

people, your industry has ready access (or you surely should have) to

all kinds of scientific experts in nearly any field. The link to the

story on your web site follows. There were distinct differences

between the reporter's voice report compared with your internet link.

The following internet link will show you an article with photos from

Chernobyl prepared by a scientist who has worked first

hand with such problems.

There are other extensive reports available; the IAEA (International

Atomic Energy Agency) of the UN conducted in-depth investigations of

the Chernobyl disaster ten years after the event. A second such

investigation was done fourteen years after the event and recently has

been published. "Thirty thousand deaths" indeed!!! What a cruel hoax

with no supporting evidence for such a claim.

Please perform due diligence on this story and do not permit such

utterly unfounded crap to stand in the public eye. Tony, I am

astonished that you would permit something so poorly done to get past

you! If you need or want more scientific information to place

Chernobyl into a more accurate perspective, I will be glad to provide

further references or suggest scientists active in health physics who

would gladly speak with you.

Sincerely,

Maury Siskel
