RE: Op-Ed in International Herald Tribune



I looked at the article by W. Freideberg, et. al., "Radiation exposure

during air travel," published in Health Physics, Vol. 79, No 5, November

2000.  The effective dose rate at an altitude of 60,000 ft, 80 degrees

north, from Jan 1958 to Dec 1999 averaged 14.5 microSv/hr, with a maximum of

18.4 microSv/hr.
