I would say, that radioactivity is unique insofar, that it can be detected

immediately without time delay in the case of dangerous "amounts" - this is

without doubt true for gamma-rays and even for alpha- and beta-emitting

radionuclides. Alpha- and beta-emitters do not pose a hazard from a "sealed

jar", but their potential is much higher, when dispersed in significant

quantities.



Talking about "hazards": one should - without touching the LNT-theory

controversy - talking about the levels in question!!!!!
