appropriate content

As a reminder to everyone, here is the first stated rule for the Radsafe

list:

"Please keep in mind that RADSAFE is for the discussion of issues related to

radiation protection. Messages which do not add substantive content to the

discussion are not appreciated. Flames, coarse language, and negative

personal comments about members of the list or others are unprofessional and

never appropriate."

Anyone is welcome to participate in the discussions - regardless of

'political' leanings or professional status (i.e., it is not necessary to be

a radiation safety 'professional'). It is necessary that the discussions be

kept polite and substantive (i.e. minimize the posting of brief,

nonsubstantive comments like 'me, too.'). Spirited discussions are

encouraged, negative personal comments are not appropriate. I haven't seen

any particular problems lately, but there was some discussion about content

issues, so I thought I'd issue this brief reminder and clarification.
