The vegetation period is not 365 days a year. CO2 taken up during the
vegetation period is liberated, when the plants die and decompose or when
they - like wood - are burnt. Ideally there would be an equilibrium - over a
longer time period - between CO2 uptake and liberation. If an equilibrium is
disturbed, this will have an impact on other equilibria, like sun light
reflection etc. Whether it will lead to global warming or global cooling -
we'll see or maybe the next 1000 generations of mankind.
Isn't it wonderful that there controversies on so many things in this world
and not only about nuclear power and radiation?!
