Re: International Dosimetry Regulations and Accreditations
Sandy,
The information that you require for the UK can be found at the
following URL - http://www.hse.gov.uk/hthdir/noframes/dosimet.htm
To assist you the following is the address of the individual to contact for
information or formal application for approval in the UK:
The Dosimetry Services Administrator,
Health & Safety Executive,
Physical Agents Unit,
Room 403, Magdalen House, Trinity Road,
Bootle, Merseyside
L20 3QZ
Tel: 0151 951 4027; fax: 0151 951 4845;
Email: lorraine.medcalf@hse.gsi.gov.uk
If you want further information on the approval process in the UK it can be
found at the URL given above. In addition the "Requirements for the
approval of dosimetry services under the Ionising Radiations Regulations
1999" can be obtained from the HSE at the above address. The Requirements
(generally referred to as the RADS documents) come in three parts. Part 1
covers the requirements for dosimetry services to be approved for the
assessment of external radiations, part 2 for internal radiations and part 3
for record keeping.
Regards
Julian Ginniver
