RE: Dateline NBC TMI story - A different evaluation

That may have been the purpose of the story, but that isn't the outcome. And

yes the purpose of the story of the shooter at the University was

entertainment, but I bet allot of students are looking over their shoulders

for a while. I also dare anyone to say they don't look up when they pass a

tower. And when I go to Texas I look behind every tree. (There is usually a

cop waiting to write a ticket, haha). The purpose of stories may be

entertainment, but when people can relate to the story it affects their

lives. Allot of anti-nuclear folks believe we (being pro-nuclear) have a

plot to cover up the real story about the nuclear industry. This list should

reflect opinions as well as facts or their would never be free thinking,

change, or improvement. The way we live today, started out as one person's

opinion yesterday. Case in point, The earth is ROUND.

And I suppose the next feature on Dateline, which is on the shooter who

fired from the tower at the University of Texas, is to frighten people about

going to a university? Or to be afraid of walking near tall towers? Or to

going to Texas?

The purpose of these shows is to attract viewers, entertain them (?) and

hope they buy the sponsors products. There is a propensity on this list

server to think that anything that is not pro-nuclear is a plot. Look at

the show for what it was, not what you think it is.

. . .

This production was clearly a politically motivated effort to induce further

unfounded fears of a beneficial technology that has been improved vastly

beyond that which actually worked (despite human intervention to override

its controls) prior to the improvements implemented post-TMI!
