Job Title:Environmental Health & Safety Specialist III (Health Physicist)

Duties:
Perform Quality Assurance Manager duties under the supervision of the
Radiation Safety Officer, to assure that the UCB Radiation Safety
Program is conducted in accordance with license commitments, the
Radiation Protection Manual, and State and Federal regulations, and
that Radiation Safety's emergency response efforts are effective.
Supervise and assume technical responsibility for decommissioning
projects and oversee campus-wide radiation safety training. Oversee
correspondence and contact with regulatory authorities, the Radiation
Safety Committee, the RTNS Radiation Safety Committee, the Human
Subject Protection Committee, the Animal Care and Use Committee, and
the faculty. May assume the responsibilities of the Radiation Safety
Officer in his or her absence.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience working as part of a major university's
radiation safety program.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in health physics or radiological
health, or bachelor's degree in a physical science or a biological
science. Two to four years of applied health physics experience in a
program with a radiation safety environment similar to that in a
major university program.
